Hi list!
So what exactly is the state of PAndroid, asks danboid? More
specifically, whats the best (best = most stable, reliable and fully
featured) Android distro for the original Panda (A4)? I tried to find
this out yesterday and what I gathered is that you can get Linaro (and
Google?) images of Jelly Bean but you can't get SGX accel for JB yet.
I really require my OGLES / SGX to be working so it looks like I'm
restricted to ICS releases so yesterday I tried following the
instructions to install a pre-built image from here
https://android-build.linaro.org/builds/~linaro-android/panda-ics-gcc47-omapzoom-stable-blob/
which says:
Save boot.tar.bz2, system.tar.bz2 and userdata.tar.bz2 from the
Downloads section below
bzr branch lp:linaro-image-tools
./linaro-image-tools/linaro-android-media-create --mmc /dev/sdc --dev
panda --system system.tar.bz2 --userdata userdata.tar.bz2 --boot
boot.tar.bz2
That didn't boot - I just got the two LEDS lit continuously and a
similar thing happened when I tried booting the latest Linaro ICS
image by following the instructions given here:
http://releases.linaro.org/12.07/android/leb-panda/
Whaddya know - no bootio!
I should still have an old copy of the ICS image that some company
linked to on here but as I remember it they never posted it to a
proper FTP site and that was almost a year ago so I thought there
would be something newer and hopefully more stable whilst still being
simple to install and complete as poss wrt drivers etc.
Thanks!
Dan
