Hi,
Is it usual for the ducati firmware to take 30seconds or so to load?
After the appropriate modules have been loaded (remoteproc, omapdce
etc...) I get the following messages in the kernel log:

[ 17.218841] rproc remoteproc0: Booting fw image
ducati-m3-core0.xem3, size 3115895
[ 17.226928] omap-iommu omap-iommu.1: ipu: version 2.1
[ 17.492034] rproc remoteproc0: remote processor ipu_c0 is now up
[ 17.500640] virtio_rpmsg_bus virtio0: rpmsg host is online
[ 17.506500] rproc remoteproc0: registered virtio0 (type 7)
[ 46.612670] omap-rproc omap-rproc.1: received echo reply from ipu_c0
[ 46.619445] virtio_rpmsg_bus virtio0: creating channel rpmsg-dce addr 0x2a

So there is 30 seconds or so from when the modules are loaded till the
'received echo reply' message appears. Before this message appears, I
am unable to access the ducati framework via libdce.

Is this the expected behaviour? Is there a sysfs or similar file that
can be examined to determine the status of this (so I can easily
programatically determine if it's too early to do movie playback)?

Regards,
Andre

This is a known issue that might be fixed soon.
In fact dce FW is currently initializing his entire memory whereas it is useless.
This is where we are wasting time.
