Subject: FastBoot + USB-Serial port issue

Hi Guys,

I followed https://wiki.linaro.org/Platform/Android/CompileAndRunAOSPICS
to load AOSP image to pandaboard.
But none of my effort to load the device into fastboot mode worked :(

I tried Plugin power -> press n hold GPIO_121, doesn't work.
My usb-serial connection( which worked when i had a linaro image on
the pandaboard ).. doesnt show up anything. Minicom starts up and
remains in offline mode.

I have come here with quite a lot of dreams to work on pandaboard,
only to get stopped in early stages like this.
Plz help me get thru this

When your serial does not respond, there's something strange. At least
U-Boot should say something.
Just a stupid idea: I found my SD card slot to be quite notchy. Once I
inserted a new card I also got no Panda response at all. After some
minutes of searching I found the card did not properly connect to the
landing contacts. Pulled out, re-inserted carefully, issue solved ;-)
Also, some cards slide in better than others.

I got the same problem.I received panda several days ago.

I used Linaro 12 03 img,and the OS is running and I could connect panda
with adb, but no response with my usb-serial,
I'm sure my usb-serial is ok which could work in other platform.

I still do not know what's wrong.

The same problem here.
Linaro build worked fine.
...then I flashed it with aosp using usbboot/fastboot.
I can see android splash on DVI-D port (It does not get to homescreen, though)

The problem is that I cannot see anything on minicom. Neither I get the shell on
serial port.

Shagan,

just want to ask you about your setup. are you running on ubuntu PC?
Do you need to install special driver for pandaboard inorder for it to work
on ubuntu?
