Decision statements of the Paleopedology Working Group on the Origin and Nature of Paleosols

Dear colleagues,
Prof. Dan Yaalon in his recent message (of January 2, 2009)
suggested
that the nine decision statements of the Paleopedology Working Group
on
the Origin and Nature of Paleosols could form a basis for further
discussion and revision in view of the current use of some new modern
instrumental methods not known nearly 40 years ago. The statement of
the working group was published in the “Paleopedology - Origin, Nature
and Dating of Paleosols” [edited by D.H.Yaalon, ISSS and Israel
Univ..Press, Jerusalem, 1971], that is not very well known by the
current generation.
We decided to reprint the chapter from the book mentioned above and
invite all of you to participate in discussion of all the nine points
of decision statements of the Working Group.
Please find the document in the "Files" section of the forum page or
in "Commission publications" section of Paleopedology commission web
site (http://paleopedology.msu.ru).

Deart Alexander, I know that book very well, and I have a copy, it is great
and a milestone. I think the other chapters of that book should be made
available as well for the discussion, as many points of the 9 decision
statements from the chapter you mention are a direct results of very
valuable papers papers presentd in the other chapters,and would help to
take those points into account as well
