Is there a command line switch one can use to make sure that in
__main__,  uiclass = pk.NullUi?

I want a completely silent pagekite, so that I can only use the
logfile for the output of pagekite. Is this possible currently without
modifying the source?

This should work: pagekite.py --nullui
