David Robert Dill, Esquire, 60, of Kansas City, KS, died March 20,
2001, at the home in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be at
10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in
Winchester, KS, with Reverend Paul Finley officiating. Burial will be
at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m.
to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Memorials
may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Church and sent in care of
the Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box 416, Oskaloosa, KS 66066. Mr. Dill
was born August 18, 1940 at Brownwood, TX, the son of Robert Mitchell
and Birdie Jo Hood Dill. He had lived in the Kansas City, KS area for
31 years, but, David always called Winchester, KS his home. Mr. Dill
graduated from high school in Pacific Grove, CA. He received his
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Jurist Doctorate Degree
in 1970 from the University of Kansas. He had worked as an attorney in
Clay, Platte and Jackson counties in Missouri. He was a partner of the
Law Firm Linde-Thompson for seven years; corporate attorney for Maxon
Electronics for five years; an assistant prosecuting attorney for
Kansas City, MO; and private practice for 15 years. He was a member of
the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester, KS; a member of the
Kansas Law Review for two years; a member of the Kansas City, MO Bar
Association and the Missouri Association, until retiring in 1996 due
to illness. Mr. Dill served in the United States Army from 1958 to
1963. He had formerly been a member of Phi Alpha Delta and served on
the Board of the Park Hill School District in Platte Wood, MO. He was
married to Patricia Ann Jackson on July 25, 1990 at Liberty, MO. He is
survived by one son, Lieutenant Commander Robert Williamson Dill,
Mechanicsburg, PA; two stepsons, David E. Jackson and Chad E. Jackson,
both of Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren, Robert John and Patrick
Michael Dill; one sister, Tommie Jo Zimmerman, Chino, CA; one brother,
Mitchell Hood Dill, North Zylch, TX; a half-brother, Robert P. Dill,
Lenexa, KS; and a half-sister, Jessie P. Holmes, Mission, KS.
