At http://centrim.mis.brighton.ac.uk/research/projects/innovationwiki/intro/mov/InnovationWiki-iPhone-cell.3gp/view
(public, but excluded from Plone navigation until further notice) I
have a 3gp movie —

> Unsupported video type

> InnovationWiki-iPhone-cell.3gp — 3GP video, 3248Kb
> Size: 3.2 MB
> File type: None (video/3gpp)
> Height: 360 pixels
> Width: 480 pixels

After the upload, I realised that the .3gp version of the movie has no
sound (probably an issue with the Perian-oriented QuickTime Pro export
from a .flv source).

Before I dig further, please, is 3gp supported in Plone4Artists video?

TIA
Graham

Hi Graham,

3gp is currently not one of the support mimetypes, but it's fairly easy to add. See the code that was added to support .m4v:

http://dev.plone4artists.org/pm/p/plone4artists/changeset/2307/projects/p4a.video/trunk/p4a/video/mov/configure.zcml
http://dev.plone4artists.org/pm/p/plone4artists/changeset/2308/projects/p4a.plonevideo/trunk/p4a/plonevideo/sitesetup.py

whereever it says "video/x-m4v", you would replace that with "video/3gpp".

if you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please add a ticket to the issue tracker and we will add it for the next release.

thanks,
Nate
