Subject: What a mess
Went to the station today to catch the 9:10 (I think) to Paddington.
It turned up bang on time (score 10). However, 5 minutes after that
the "service" was announced it was cancelled (apparently the
"guard" .. god knows what he does .. couldn't be arsed to turn up ...
net result ... train cancelled).

Had a chat with the station manager ... a really nice guy ... got a
refund on my ticket and just wandered back home to do some work.

(1) The poor guys at Oxford station are getting a load of grief about
things that they have no control over. They are nice, helpful, people.
They do not deserve the hassle they are getting due to First Directs's
incompetence.

(2) First Direct are rubbish. They have no concept of "quality of
service".

(3) Virgin is great. I've got no reason to complain about their
service at all.

Just my 2p's worth! I'm aiming to catch the Virgin trains from now on.

Ken

I have created a web site to make it easy for passengers to place a
complaint. I will
forward the complaints to the appropriate rail company.
