I am at Modern Art tonight, so won't make OxHack. I am painfully aware that I have borrowed crocodile clips for my setup, and need to return these. If you need them, let me know a place and I'll bring them there. If it's less urgent, I will be at next week's Oxhack.

I’ll be coming tonight, but won’t be able to make it the following week as the new autumn ‘term’ is starting for the Adobe Users Groups. These events are held about once a month at OFVM, Catherine Street, East Oxford. How to do gruesome make-up for TV/video appears to be one of the items on the agenda!! Untypical.

I recall that people were going to advertise Oxhack at GeekNight this Wednesday, right? I'll be there to applaud you. :) If you've never been, it's a fun and laid-back monthly (?) venue with a focus on computing. Details are here: http://oxford.geeknights.net/2012/sep-19th/

Wednesday evening will be my OxHack day this week, as I'm going to an interesting edition of SciBar on Thursday. The topic is expectance-modulated perception. Basically, whereas your average Arduino will process a 1 input as a 1, the computer between your ears filters the 1 and may treat it as 0. The talk is about the filter. The poster is attached.

Hope some of you are coming tonight – especially as we may have one or two new people dropping by.

 

Sorry to be boring, but I’m anxious to have at least some discussion of organizational matters tonight and have a couple of suggestions I’d like to float. These include the setting-up of a small ‘Boring Group’, specifically to consider matters the rest of you find boring!!! More details, probably, after tonight’s meeting.

I’ll be at OARC between 7:30 and 10:00 but will probably need to pop out between 8 – 8:45.

stammtisch event at the Port Mahon - it may be some useful networking
for us! :-)

I cannot conceive of anything "boring" within the hackspace so far!
