Hi all,

Great news about Oxford Geek Night 14 on Wednesday 23 September, as
we've confirmed our two keynote speakers!

http://oxford.geeknights.net/2009/sep-23rd/

Michael Mahemoff, strategist at BT Osmosoft and author of "Ajax
Patterns", is combining his two loves of improved user experience and
leveraging well-known patterns by discussing how common web procedures
- like logging in, or registering for a site - follow patterns the
site visitor has come to expect, and how we can expand on those
existing patterns.

Richard Pope, web developer, UI expert and MySociety contributor, will
speak in his capacity as co-founder of the Ernest Marples project.
This is intended to provide postcode services to the masses, starting
with MySociety projects, and Richard will talk about how YOU - that's
YOU - can help free the postcode.

We've still got vacancies for microslots and pitches. Microslots, as
most of you will know by now, are five-minute volunteer talks which
anyone can do. The audience is a pretty friendly crowd and there's a
wide selection of past talks on the OGN website if you'd like to see
what's been done before.

Interested? Submit your microslot here:

http://natbat.wufoo.com/forms/oxford-geek-night-microslot-proposal/

and we'll see you on the night!

The Pitch is a less formal, sixty-second open-mic slot. Anything goes:
you can pitch an idea or a business opportunity; advertise a vacancy
or product; or tell a joke, do a dance, or just say hi. Email me
<jp.s...@gmail.com> if you'd like to pitch. No need to confirm
exactly what you want to pitch, in advance!

All the best,
J-P
