Overtone on Ubuntu 13.04 x86
Hi all, I am trying to get overtone to work in my 32bit laptop (Linux 3.8.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu i686 GNU/Linux) and have had no success so far. When I tried to load Overtone 0.8.1 from the REPL I get: Loading Overtone... Exception Can't connect to native server - no compatible libraries for your... more »

"add-watch" for buffers?
Is there a default way to trigger an event whenever a value in a buffer changes? Or in general, to trigger events from within synths? As usual, apologies if I'm missing something obvious. Thanks, Eric

Algorithms for generating music
Hello, I've been reading a lot of David Copes books around Musical creativity and I've started working on converting his algorithms to Clojure and overtone. Still lots of fun to be had playing with the algorithms, I thought I would share my tinkering with everyone: [link]... more »

translating @redFrick's tweets
I don't know where I got the pointer to this guys tweets, but he's making some amazingly dense, fun tweets of Supercollider code. I picked this one to translate and learned a few things from the attempt. I thought I'd write it up here for those who might be interested. The tweet is here [link]... more »

Meta-eX: Hacking Overtone on the Stubnitz - Thurs 16th May
Hey everyone, You've heard of people live coding Clojure examples as part of their talks. Heck, you've probably even seen Stuart Halloway jam on Chris Ford's Bach composition in the new O'Reilly lecture series "Clojure Inside Out". However, that's just warm-up material... Come and jump aboard the M.S. Stubnitz and witness Meta-eX blow your mind with some seriously loud hand-hacked beats. Meta-eX is the only Clojure-powered band on Earth, and we hack live in Emacs using Overtone to weave immutable data structures into ephemeral sounds.... more »

Controlling Ableton Live from Overtone
Hi, I just started looking at Overtone and it looks awesome. Does anyone have any pointers to how to control Ableton live from Overtone? Is that even possible? Cheers, Peter
