OT: Latest Diesel Prices For Randburg

Apologies for the off topic, my BP garage in Rabie street has closed
down. I'm on the hunt for the best diesel price in the Randburg area.
Boskruin Shell are not answering their phones and there is a Shell
garage in Sundowner, battling to get their number off Google too.

Any suggestions, I buy in "Bulk" usually.

The Shell in Rabie was usually 5 cents more than that BP on Rabie.

 

When you say “bulk” how much are you referring to?

 

There is also Diesel Oil and something in Honeydew

That’s not bulk!

That is a normal Cruiser or Landy fillup!

 

Do a little math.

 

Drive an extra 10kms to get fuel 5 cents cheaper.

200 Litres @ R0.05 = R10 saved.

 

5 kms per litre = 2 litres consumed @R12.50 = R25.00 which means you just spent R15 for nothing! J

Mintys Sasol which is in Parkwood on Jan Smuts Ave is now R11.91/l for 50ppm/low sulphur Diesel

I work 2km's from there so it's not out the way for me, and I've been filling up there for over 5 years, no problems

Last week my colleague filled up with 42litres, of which, most was WATER!!!! Sasol supposedly had a bad delivery the evening before/during late night/early morning

He's submitted a claim to Sasol, their response was 100 questions about when his car was last serviced, where he'd previously filled up etc. He too had been using the same place, for about 5 years!! Sasol said they were aware of that specific problem, and would get back to him within 21days!!!

His bill to get everything sorted with his car is almost 5k!!! KIA's charge to clean out the whole system, and then to top it off, where his vehicle "broke down" on Jan Smuts within 100m of the garage, Metro cops impounded his vehicle, and flat bedded it to the depot!! He wasn't having a good day.

There was another Landy Defender 90 who was also affected at the same time.

I filled 73l there this evening and all seems good, just bad luck batch, but it is scary and can happen to anyone.

I was just a bit surprised that Sasol was so full of excuses

The Total garage at Bloubosrand, in Riverbend road off Witkoppen, sells 50ppm at cost on Wednesdays and Sundays.  Have been away since the most recent price change so do not know their current "cost" price, but certainly a significant saving on the last price cycle.
