Conditions: Full time, two-three year tenure
People of exceptional character wanted for an extraordinary two to
three year journey with almost one thousand young people. Constant
challenges, long hours of complete satisfaction, safe return from
expeditions preferable, tiredness guaranteed, community respect and
recognition as primary remuneration.
Wollangarra is seeking one or two people to fill the position of
Director/s from June 2010. Prospective applicants must be willing to
live and work in a small, remote community, without electricity or
modern luxuries.
Wollangarra was established twenty years ago, but remains more
relevant than ever to the young people of today. It provides an
opportunity for them to experience a lifestyle based around the simple
philosophy of doing rather than talking and fixing rather than
complaining.
Those who possess the following should consider applying:
- A good sense of humour.
- A good sense of direction.
- Patience. Things don’t happen quickly round here!
- The ability to differentiate between a spanner and a shifter.
- The ability to procure a range of materials necessary for
innumerable projects using a combination of persuasion,
resourcefulness and opportunistic behaviour.
