Description: A place to dialogue and organize for those opposed to George W. Bush commandeering Calvin's 2005 Commencement.

New forum to continue the discussion.

FROM THE MODERATOR...THAT'S ALL, FOLKS!
Dear Everyone, Well, it's been real. This forum was originally started as a place where protesters could dialogue and organize for an event, and that event is now over. If you all would like to keep...I wouldn't call it dialoguing exactly...sending messages back and forth, I suggest that one of you start a new forum or Google group. Truth be told, as... more »

DOOMED BY CONSERVATISM
It is quite ironic that a typical Christian college often claims to be a "liberal arts" institution and one that embraces Christian values (whatever that mean), reconciliation with the society, and in pursuit of intellectual growth. It looks like the successful rate of Christian colleges is quite low.... more »

Too bad we couldn't show a better face
I agree with those who suggest that this group has run its course. I have enjoyed the discourse, especially in the beginning. As a Christian who believes that Christ called us to love and serve others, I was very encouraged to see the honest, respectful way that many in the Calvin community objected to Bush using Calvin's commencement to try to cement... more »

TO THE MODERATOR
I think that this Google Group has probably run its course. Not that it should be deleted, but maybe frozen if possible. The day is past, and to be honest there hasn't been much worth-while dialogue here in a long time. It's unfortunate but true. I don't mean to put an end to dialogue, but perhaps this just isn't a good place. It seems to have... more »

Why Dems Supported War In Bosnia But Not Iraq
Evan Sayet [link] Recall that when the left was trying to undermine America's will to liberate the Iraqi people and remove Saddam Hussein -- the genocidal, terrorist linchpin in the world of Arab/Islamic atrocities -- the obstructionists offered an ever-changing line of "reasoning."... more »

Leftists at Calvin:
Leftists at Calvin...do you have the courage of this former leftist, Kieth Thompson, to take a good, hard Christian look at what you support, and why? Do you hate George W. Bush more than you love freedom? Are you suppressing that "insistent inner voice"? The single most important thing a genuinely liberal person can do now... more »
