i used to like "le commensal" - it's perhaps not the most cozy restaurant
but it's got a lot of good food, sort of like the green door but much bigger.
i don't know what percentage is vegan, they have a contact us page on here
the menu mentions vegetarien more than vegan though.

i found this page you might like

commensal:

The food served in our restaurants is composed of vegetarian and vegan dishes. They have all been prepared by talented cooks with the aim of serving you the best of fruits, vegetables and grains in flavours from the world over.

You will discover a vast selection of salads and hot dishes presented at our various buffet stations. Last but not least are our scrumptious vegetarian desserts for which Commensal is also famous.

We had le commensal in Quebec City and were not impressed… however not in Montreal.

Everyone loves Chu Chai... Chuch is a little more economical however not as much variety so if you can really treat yourself go to the full restaurant.

Others?… I threw together this map when we went on our QC trip although we just passed though MTL in the end… I threw in some comments I pulled from reviews-food recommendations.

Vegetarian Paradise Chi-Ming sells the Nelakee brand meat and makes a good number of faux-meat dishes and you can check out the menu here: http://www.paradisvegetarien.com/menu_1.html

The absolute best veg restaurant in Montreal is Chu Chai, 4094 rue
Saint-Denis. It's Thai and has all kinds of fascinating mock meats. If
you go, get the black peppered "duck". Almost all vegan except I think
pad thai contains egg. A little pricier - about $15 for an entree - but
totally worth it. They have a take-out deli-style counter, too.

Aux Vivres is also fantastic, 4631 blvd Saint-Laurent. They're
completely vegan, health-focused and have great veganized classics.

La Faim du Monde is right next door to Chu Chai and has a huge variety
of international dishes with something for everyone. Very reasonable prices.

Yuan, 400 Sherbrooke East, is another. They serve Asian cuisine and
prices are good.

aux vivres is one of the best veg restaurants i've ever been to...

also there is casa del popolo... a little pub on st.laurent... during the day they serve vegan/veg sandwiches with sides of nachos, salads, and soups... definitely a bit more "gritty"... but they have a back patio and it's super cute!

Chu Chai is still open in Montreal on Rue St. Denis.  Downstairs cafe is separate from upstairs restaurant.   Also Le Commensal has several locations in Montreal, and unlike the Green Door in Ottawa, has a vast array of choices.  Also, the decor in each location differs, and all are very pleasant.   Don't see why so many places, just because they are veg, are so utilitarian.
