We are seeking a Sr RF and Opto-Electrical Systems Design Engineer for our Ottawa based client
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer interface, defining RF and Opto-electrical systems design specs, and translate to circuit functional specs
- Define/design overall system architecture, system partitioning and link budget analysis
- Design, model and test RF/Analog multichip modules and subsystems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- *ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES, CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE OTTAWA AREA WILL BE CONSIDERED
- BS or better in EE
- 10+ yrs of microelectronics industry experience
- Strong experience in RF systems and product architecture design
- Solid experience in design of high frequency RF/Microwave systems, which incorporate such circuits as: transmitter and receiver RF chains, PAs, LNAs, PLLs, modulators, oscillators, antennas, mixers and demodulators at VHF to Ka band frequencies.
- MUST also be able to successfully design multi-chip modules and subsystems in a wide selection of frequency ranges, functional categories, and packaging technologies.
- Experience in electrical system simulation and design tools (ADS) and leading edge RF modeling tools (HFSS, Empire, Momentum, etc)
- Experience in design of optical, and electro-optical, systems and packaging
- Experience with RF test equipment, including network, spectrum and modulation analyzers
- Must be eligible for security clearance
- Needs to be customer delivery focused, with strong communication skills, able to work well within multidisciplinary product development team in a fast paced challenging environment
DESIRABLE/ASSET:
- Experience with radar, satellite, and telecommunications systems is a definite asset, as is experience in RF packaging and modules design
- Experience having done RF product certification
- Experience in end to end product development and manufacturing implementation
