Thinking about buying from Phoenix Homes? I suggest you see this site
first: www.pheonixhomes.ca

Have you bought from Phoenix and are still waiting for your house? I've
been waiting for nearly a year. Closing was supposed to be in October.
I still don't have a foundation or even a hole in the ground. How
late is too late?

That's a shame. Phoenix is one of those developers who doesn't have a great
reputation here in Ottawa. However, I believe you are very close to opting
out and get your monies back. Check Tarion and see if you fall within the
number of days range. Or better yet, just give your real estate lawyer a
call.

Out of curiousity, what development did you buy?

Just finished reading your story. I feel for you. I would've backed out
when given the chance. If they offer you the chance or if you are legally
entitled to back out then do it. If Phoenix finds out about your website I
seriously doubt that they will take any care in building your house.

We bought in Barrhaven (Strandherd Meadows).

I've been watching the logs and they discovered the site last Monday. I
even suspect that they'll sick their worst contractor on my house.
They'll be fixing it and fixing it right.

I wish I could back out but it's been a year and prices have gone up
everywhere else. Phoenix was cheap to begin with. Now I see why.
