Can't change mounted files using "Mac applications"

Hi!
I have the following problem: I'm using OSXFUSE and Macfusion to mount a remote directory via sshfs. The mount seems to be successful, and I can change the remote files on the Terminal using vi. But as soon as I want to change them say with TextEdit, it doesn't work! Error messages are along the lines "file is locked, still save?" and after a "yes" it says "no permission".
Any hint?
