Moin! and Happy Easter,

OSB Weenrmoor covers the years 1724 to 1928.

FamilySearch's film for Weenermoor covers from 1853-1874.

Where can I see the originals prior to 1853 and where can I see the originals after 1874?

thanks in advance.

Hi Jill,
I seem to remember that Weenermoor records were combined with the Weener ones.  I don't have the Weener book, but maybe Lin can check for you.
Hope your are having a nice Easter.

Grace,

Happy Easter to as well.

There are separate books---I have reviewed the four (?) volumes of Weener and I have in my possession the Weenermoor book.  Actually your understanding is mirrored by the folks at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake and they are wrong, too! the confusion is caused by the name of the Weener book which includes the DISTRICT it encompasses, which includes Weenermoor.  People could use their local church, if one existed, or the head church. Weenermoor was the local church and has it's own book.  Example: Beschotenweg does not have its own church but is also listed in the title of the Weener book.

I am trying to get to the originals, not a transcription.

You did check Ancestry I guess? I do not have an account for that anymore so I cannot test this. But I fear the worst.

I believe there are no online copies for Weenermoor.

For paper copies I would check with Upstalboom Gesellschaft in Aurich (pre 1853) en Statsarchive in Aurich (aft 1874).

Teijo and all - OGSA purchased the microfiche for a lot of Reformed churches and they include  the Rheiderland area.
I can't find my list of what we have right now, but I'll post it after I find it.
These records are also in Aurich at either the Staatsarchiv or the Upstalsboom-Gesellschaft Library.

Jürgen Sternsdorff who did the Pogum, Driever, Esklum, Village/Halte had them and offered them for sale - we bought all of them!  We have them available at the Minnesota Genealogy Center in Mendota Heights by appointment and at all our conferences.

Our next conference is July 23-25, 2026!   You do not have to be a member to attend!    www.ogsa.us

Lin,

I will send you a short list.

I don't think I will be in the midwest until October.
