I just joined this group and have several questions for all of you
more experienced osprey watchers.
first is have you ever heard of a bald eagle predating on an osprey
nest? I have read Dr. Poole's book in detail and see that only owls
are mentioned as avaian predators. I live in an area where great blue
herons are impacted by bald eagles and there is an osprey nest near
the heron rookery . thank you for any information
Second question is has anyone ever recorded an soprey nest as large as
1000 pounds? I have read about the average weight being about 250
pounds, but not one as large as 1000 pounds.
