Hi,
I know it is not ospreys but thought you all might be interested in an update. This eagle nest in Plant City has 3 adults all season now. One has a broken leg. The other 2 take care of the injured one. It is an amazing story of compassion that these eagles are showing to each other. Maybe the injured eagle is former offspring.
The osprey that lost the mate was sitting in an incubating position this afternoon, although I don’t think she has eggs. I’ll check in the morning to see if she is still in the same position. I haven’t seen her with a boyfriend yet but there has been ample time.

Our osprey have arrive! Very excited…we are at the tip of Washburn Island, Waquoit (East Falmouth) Cape Cod, MA. Last year we had a storm and the nest flipped off the pallet. It took about 3 weeks to get the estuary to help us get a new pallet up on the pole. There was no saving the nest. It was face down…likely with eggs. It was enormous and full of interesting bits of things. The Osprey hung around and flew over head the whole time we were hoisting the pallet up on to the pole. We threw some branches and twigs up to help the start a rebuild. They stuck around only for a day or so and then left. The nest was empty for the remainder of the season. First time in years. We are so happy to see the nest occupied. Will send pics!
