I'm try to update this for f-droid FOSS repo. The setup is this
Build Version:0.8.0r393,16,394,srclibs=ActionBarSherl...@4.1.0,prebuild=\
sed -i 's@\(android.library.reference.1=\).*@\1$$ActionBarSherlock$$@'  
project.properties

and the error is this:  
/de.blau.android/src/de/blau/android/services/TrackerService.java:106:  
cannot find symbol
     [javac] symbol  : method setUsesChronometer(boolean)
     [javac] location: class  
android.support.v4.app.NotificationCompat.Builder
     [javac]                    .setUsesChronometer(true)

if I use ABS 4.0.1:

de.blau.android/src/de/blau/android/services/TrackerService.java:17: cannot  
find symbol
     [javac] symbol  : class NotificationCompat
     [javac] location: package android.support.v4.app
     [javac] import android.support.v4.app.NotificationCompat;

don't use the support library supplied by ActionBarSherlock.
its too old.
I had the same issue in Eclipse st first.

Use the patched android-support-v4.jar found via issue 117.

Builds with the new tools whether no matter if using an old support jar or
