Hi all,

I have the opportunity to add support to an application I maintain for
a tile source that renders dynamic information into the tiles.
Naturally these tiles are only valid as long as the dynamic data has
not changed so an all-or-nothing approach to caching is simply not
feasible. Has there been any work on setting tile lifetimes recently,
or has anyone worked around the lack of support in the library using
some other out-of-band mechanism?

TIA,
Oliver

To make things (hopefully) easier, the standard HTTP cache control
headers plus ETag should be useable for the tile source. Would osm-gps-
map in its current incarnation be able to intelligently use this
information to prevent downloading tiles again? (Admittedly, it would
still need to make network connections in this case, but it is better
than downloading the content entirely again.)
