is there a way to backup my settings (programs / configurations / browser bookmarks / email) to ubuntu1 ?

i saw that the backup program in ubuntu, only backup files. but will it also backup the settings of programs i have installed from the software centre / apt ?

the second method in the article is basically the same with LVM snapshot, because you have partitions in LVM that you want to preserve.

if you use physical partition, follow the article that you mentioned :)
