Hey guys,

Technically ORUG is scheduled for 2nd Thursdays which means this
Thursday the 8th. However, I'm out of town, and no one is signed up
to talk.

If someone wants to take the lead and have a meeting, you're
welcome to it. If someone wants to just have a hackfest (or Code
Kata) or a pub night downtown, that's an idea.

Future meetings (in the next months) will probably be moving to
CoLab downtown now that they finally have a room big enough for a
meeting, and they're investing in a projector and screen.

So, for this Thursday, please discuss.

Justin and I might be able to take it. We'll get back to you later
today.

We can do it!

Rob can meet everyone for dinner at the same place as last time (where
was that?).

I can do a talk but it will probably be code heavy since I don't have
time to whip up a bunch of flippin sweet slides. I'll figure something
out today. Thinking genetic algorithms in ruby but that might be too
boring, plus I'm only just now starting to play with it so I may just
end up embarrassing myself. Although that could be entertaining too.

Any suggestions?

Sounds good. Rob should be there. He's also going to do a talk on
relational vs. document-oriented databases, and in what cases one or
the other is more appropriate.

I'm going to take a stab at discussing very basic genetic algorithms
in ruby. Show some code, watch it run some simulations, and maybe get
around to discussing what real world problems this type of programming
may solve.

See you all tonight at BJ's at 6 PM, and then DeVry at 7 PM for
genetic algorithms and document databases (mutually exclusive of
course).
