On Tuesday 21 February Origins Centre will show the National
Geographic Channel documentary ‘Kissinger’.
In this 2-hour film the 88-year old Nobel Laureate defiantly reflects
on his time in the administration of two American presidents. He
explains US decisions and actions taken in Vietnam, Cambodia, the
Soviet Union, China and Chile.
One of the most controversial figures of the 20th century, Kissinger
addresses his critics but makes no apologies. “For better or worse,”
he comments, “the main strategic decisions, they reflected my
convictions. And I certainly would go that same direction again.”
The film will be introduced by J Brooks Spector, a 30-year veteran of
the American Foreign Service who has served in numerous overseas
countries. Spector is a writer and commentator on international
affairs and is also Associate Editor of the online publication, ‘The
Daily Maverick’.
