SHARING OUR ANCIENT ROCK ART TREASURES
A temporary exhibition called 'Sharing our Ancient Rock Art Treasures'
is now open at Origins Centre. It features rock art in four countries
- South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Mexico - and is currently on
show in The Gallery until 29 January 2012. It highlights some of the
most important rock art sites in these countries, many of them
associated with local community tourism developments.
A pictorial feast, the exhibition features astonishing new images of
rock art by photographer Kevin Crause.
The exhibition is open daily from 9am - 5pm, seven days a week. The
entrance fee to see the exhibition only is R45, however those who wish
to tour the entire museum including this exhibition will pay the
normal entry fee of R75.
Four (4) Saturday morning tours of the exhibition, led by rock art
experts, will take place on 12 and 26 November, 10 December and 14
January. In this instance, the participation fee is R50.
