*TITLE:              BI QA Engineer*
*SPECIALTY:     Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing*

The BI QA Engineer will work as a member of the Business Intelligence team
and will work closely with Business Intelligence Developers, Database
Developers, as well the Testers of the QA team to define, create, execute,
and maintain test cases for a variety of data warehousing, reporting and
analytical solutions:
Responsible for the test planning and test execution.
Responsible for ensuring the consistency between the defined requirements,
the implementation of the business logic at the database layer, and the
user’s experience in interacting with that data.
Responsible for coordinating with off-shore BI resources when applicable.

*Job Activities:*
Plan, develop, and execute test strategies for Business Intelligence and
Data Warehousing efforts.
This includes:
Develop, maintain, and enhance test suites to verify the validity and
accuracy of ETL processes, dimensional data, OLAP cubes and various forms
of BI content including reports, dashboards, and analytical models.
Run tests and coordinate other testers, developers, project managers, and
business user subject matter experts, through the test execution.
Troubleshoot, isolate, log, and regress bugs associated with new
functionality and sustainment updates.
Work closely with BI, DW, and DB Developers to understand, analyze, make
solution recommendations and define test strategy for data design, ETL
processes, and the testing of data.

*Experience, Skills and Attributes:*
*Minimum 5 years QA and/or Test experience
Minimum 3 years DB and DW experience, including:
Strong experience testing ETLs, SSIS packages, Stored Procedures, Data
Validation, and Schema design.
Demonstrated data analysis ability using SQL.*
Experience testing Analysis Services
Ability to refine high level design ideas and requirements into concrete
and measurable test criteria.
Proactive and passionate about BI, testing, and data analysis.
Demonstrated strengths in development of test plans, test cases, and test
strategy.
Strong data analysis skills including the ability to interpret the meaning
of the data and the intent of the data processing design. Able to identify
and communicate data that is correct or incorrect and why.
Ability to manage multiple projects & deadlines effectively with a minimum
of supervision.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
