dimensional and relational models using a tool such as ERwin
3 years working as a member of a Data Architecture team

As a member of the data architecture team, support the design and
development of an enterprise data warehouse.  Develop and implement sound
relational and dimensional data models that reflect the needs of the
business, exhibit a best-practices approach to data warehouse development,
and drive sound analytic and business intelligence decision
making.  Work with ETL and Reporting teams to assist with data mapping from
source to target systems, associated business rules, and definition of key
relationships between segments of data within the system.  Work with
Business Analysts and Subject matter Experts to understand dimension and
metric definitions for analytic data marts.

-Work with the data architecture team to develop and maintain the data
model for the core warehouse using relational modeling techniques.

-Profile source data to aid in the definition of elements within the
physical model such as indexes and range partition keys.

-Document source-to-target mappings of data elements and column attributes
based on definitions of business data elements

-Assist with analysis of new data sources to determine the best way to
incorporate their information into existing data models

-Provide guidance and review of ETL designs to ensure that data element
transfer and
transformation rules are properly implemented

-Support Business Analysts in the definition of needed facts and dimensions
to meet business intelligence and analytics users.

-Use dimensional modeling techniques to implement analytic data marts that
meet BI and analytics needs.

-Recommend data access strategies for business users in the Actuarial
Department to aid in the accurate and timely creation of data sets used in
statistical analysis and rate determination.

-Assist the BI and Reporting team with data interpretation and structure to
ensure proper and consistent construction of reporting logic.

-Support the management and maintenance of business definitions for
business terms
-Provide recommendations to management for management of master data
elements as appropriate.

-Work with developmental DBAs to recommend approaches to translating
logical data models into performant physical data models.  Includes the
definition of strategies for range partitions, foreign keys, surrogate
keys, and indexes
