Hi,

Very content with Opera Browser and Mail (IMAP rules!) I notice that
the system tray icon in Linux (no idea about Mac or Windows) is not
very nice. It has a fixed background color (no transparency) so if the
task bar / dock is other than default, this does not look very good.
Also the icon appears to be of a fixed size so when the dock is bigger
than usual, while all other icons grow with it, Opera's icon stays
smaller than the rest...

Thanks!

The developers are aware of these issues, they are trying to fix it, but
apparently it isn't easy to get that right everywhere on all Linux systems.

Not sure how exactly it will affect you, since it always worked quite
alright for me.

Hi Remco, so are you saying the tray icon background changes color
when you change the color of your panel? I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and
the Opera tray icon is always inside a small square that has a light
grayish color. Ofcourse when your panel has that same color, you'd not
notice it but what if you change that or switch ti a different desktop
theme?

The latest snapshots and RCs for 10.10 have this fixed. It was a bit of
a problem for a while with the 10 builds because they tried a few
solutions, but none of them solved the problem for all cases. Now, it
appears to be a solved problem.

Ok, so after the upgrade to Opera 10.10 in Ubuntu, the tray icon looks
just great! But funnily, now Opera (the icon??) makes Cairo Dock
crash :(

Oh, well...
