After using Evolution and Thunderbird+Sunbird on Ubuntu for many
years, I switched to Opera to manage my e-mail accounts via IMAP. I am
very happy with the move but I am missing only ONE thing:

An Agenda & TODO/Task list management.

Right now I am using a browser tab with Google Agenda opened but it
would make Opera sooooo complete if I could manage my agenda from
within Opera (side tab would be nice ;) ) ... Even if it where not
possible to create alocal agenda but only to interact with an online
service like Google Agenda or similar.

For example, when opening Manage Accounts (under Extra) I could add an
Agenda account that would come available in the side tab bar and sync
on a regular basis with the online service.

Opera 10 is in my opinion already way ahead of any other browser. I
just hope this idea will be picked up on and bring Opera even ahead of
any other mail client too !

Cheers and keep up the excellent work :)

If you right click on a bookmark -> properties there is a checkbox at the
bottom called "Show in panel". This allows you to have any site in a
panel. There is even a view button that allows you to switch to small
screen mode if needed.

All you need to do is find a proper site to put there :)

Thanks for the tip, Remco. That's indeed handy! Right now I have Opera
auto-start with the last session and just keep a tab with Google
Calendar open...

It is however not really what I am suggesting. I would stick with
Firefox or even Chromium and keep two tabs open: one for Calendar and
one for Gmail if it where so simple. From time to time I have no
internet access and still want to check my agenda just like I can read
older e-mail :)

In that case you probably want a Unite service that has a calendar. Unite
is still in alpha/beta with the snapshots and there aren't that many
services yet but it would be the solution.

See http://unite.opera.com/ for info on Unite.

Interesting... An Opera Unite service could be available off-line too?
And then sync as soon as a network connection is found? That would
really be great for an Agenda/Calendar thingy :)
