Going back to a page containing form data
|
| |
I'm having trouble getting Opera to work like IE, Firefox, and Safari in re-loading an HTML page with a form in it. The form has a textbox and a textarea with prompts in them which get cleared out when they first get focus (i.e. when the user clicks with the cursor inside the fields). This clearing of the text... more »

Using window.opera
|
| |
I am currently using window.opera to detect Opera in javascript, in order to work around a particular Opera quirk. There is no real way for me to detect this quirk with feature detection, and I figure window.opera is more reliable than UA parsing. What's the consensus on using this method? Is it evil like UA parsing,... more »

Opera versus IE7 displaying bug
|
| |
Hello *, I've a nasty problem with a IE7 floating bug that I'd like to resolve without breaking xhtml+css code that works well in Opera and FF. Example of the issue: [link] If you scroll down this page you'll find some images with a short... more »

Forcing a page to reload when you return to it.
|
| |
I have a page (generated by a CGI script) over which I have complete control. Can I persuade Opera (and any other browsers that want to) to reload the page whenever the user navigates back to it? Because this page is generated by a CGI script I have complete control over both the HTTP headers and the HTML content, so hopefully this not... more »

return true
|
| |
Hi All, In MSWindows Opera jumps down the page at the relevant link when the Javascript statement 'return true' is actioned on click. In Linux (both Opera and Konqueror) the page loads the relevant link, but the window is not repositioned at the link id. Why is that? The console shows no errors when running the script. Firefox on the other hand works... more »

CSS & Javascript "timer" will not work in Opera
|
| |
My apologies in advance for cross posting. I wasn't sure which group was the appropriate one. I created a CSS based "dialog box" as an alternative to a pop-up. In the example below, a link is clicked, a gray transparent div covers the whole screen, above that div a "dialog box" appears. The "dialog... more »

background-image scaling problem (Opera mobile 8.6)
|
| |
Hi, I have a problem with a background image being scaled down by opera. The image is larger (520x320) than the div (250x150 maybe) - this is because we want to minimize the number of hits on the server and put all backgrounds in one graphic. instead of displaying it in full size and chopping the rest off, Opera... more »

CSS percentage widths truncated?
|
| |
It seems like Opera truncates CSS percentage widths: i.e. width: 15.61% is interpreted as width: 15% This seems like a problem; if I have a container of, say, 1000px then truncating percentages like this could cause errors of up to 9 pixels. Shouldn't the percentage be applied to the length first, and then that... more »
