Hi,

since I upgraded to 9.20 yesterday I got a pretty annoying problem:

I usually use two opera windows, one containing all my tabs, one
containing our ticket system. Links in the ticket system contain the
target parameter, i.e. open in another window/tab. The second opera
window has been generated by right-clicking on the ticket system tab,
and selecting detach (the behaviour suggesets that it's not a `normal'
second Opera window, therefor this fact may be important)

Opera < 9.2 used to open new tabs in the window containing all my other
tabs. Opera 9.2 just opens a new window containing one new
tab. Preferences->Advanced->Open windows instead of tabs is unchecked.

Is there a way to turn of this behaviour? If not, is it safe (for my
.opera) to just install Opera 9.1? This behaviour is a complete
show-stopper for 9.2, if I can't get rid of it I'll have to downgrade...

BTW, can I change the behaviour of a window after closing the last tab?
Currently it's either `blank window' or `automatically opening a new
tab', depending on the `allow window with no tabs'-option. I'd prefer
automatically closing the window after closing the last tab (or at least
closing the window with ctrl-w, too).

How do you "open new tabs" from the detached tab? We actually fixed some
bugs here, the behavior was really strange in 9.0-9.1. For example, typing
an URL in the address field in the detached tab and pressing Enter would
open the URL in the original window.

What does 'save' mean to you? You'll miss out on the security fixes. Also,
you'll lose the stored logins (Wand data) for this particular downgrade.
Apart from that, the browser

You could stop using a detached window, and use a normal new app window
instead. You can always drag tabs and links directly into the window you
want, or use the Windows panel to move tabs around.

You can switch to 'open windows instead of tabs', in that mode Ctrl+W on
the last tab will close the window. But using that mode has more
consequences you might not want.

I'd like this to work in normal tabbed browsing mode as well, apart from
the last open app window I haven't convinced TBTB yet though :)

Some Link

Currently opens a new window with a new tab, used to open a tab in the
old window.

I basically meant loosing data. Wand data is not that nice, but can be
recovered. What about cookie file? Settings?

Is there something missing? :)

With two windows I had the problem that restoring the tabs on restart
only worked for the window I executed `Exit' (or ctrl-q) from, don't
know if this has been fixed by now.

Problem here is, the detached tab contains ticket queues, on a seperate
screen. I don't want anything to show up there, unless I expliticely
move it over. I don't like having to move a window to the other screen
after klicking on some ticket link. Dragging a link into the correct
tab to open it would require opening a blank tab first usually. Since
the ticket system is about the only page where I'd like to open links in
new tabs per default it's not an option.

For me the behaviour of Opera 9.1 for handling this was just
perfect. The current behaviour is such a PITA that I'd rather live with
some security concerns than using it that way.

Having more windows would create too many Windows with titlebars, not an
option.

Wanted to say:
Apart from that, a downgrade from 9.2 to 9.1 should work fine.
