Hi,
Is it possible to change the User-Agent string for mail and news in Opera?
If so, how do I do it?

This might be better posted under opera.general.
If you want a Linux-specific solution, it would probably involve intercepting outgoing messages
from Opera (and other such programs) and doing a search/replace. In other words, that would
probably have nothing to do with Opera.

I actually thought this would be different in Linux than in Windows. That
may bot be the case. I will take the question to opera.general and see
what I get. Thanks.
