I hope this is the right group to post for some help. Whenever I try to
print a web page using opera 10, the text comes out too small, I can't
barely read it! Does anyone know how to fix this?

What does it look like on preview? Is is specific to one web site only, or
all?

Select File/Print, then select the options tab, and increase
the "Scale print to".

I have been having the same problem. Checked scaling, and it was set at
80%. If I remember correctly I got the advice to reduce scale to fix a
persistent problem of part of the end of a displayed page not displaying
in print view or printing. That issue is a little better, but not fixed.

My Opera 10 installation is clean with minor changes to choice of toolbars
and buttons in them. I have posted on this before but have been unable to
get confirmation of this problem. I can't imagine I am the only one
seeing it.

I wonder whether some of my printing problems are related to use of a
rather old HP1200 printer? The HP driver folder is late 2008.

I am now convinced that the printer is not the problem. Today I tried to
print a simple two page email, with scaling set at 80%. The print size was
small (the longest line was 4.5 inches in a printable width of 7.5 inches,
which equals a scaling of 60%!)

But an even bigger problem, which I have reported at least once in the
past,is that part of the second page was not printed. I tried printing
again, specifying that only the second page be printed, and the second
page was missing the same portion as in printing both pages. This time
print view is missing less than the printed output. By changing view to
120% in print view, more of the page is missing in print view, but when
printing page two it is missing the same portion as in the other trials.

While composing this message I re-discovered another printing oddity:
while in the composing view, the print view and print buttons are not
responsive. I have them in a different tool-bar than default, but that
should not matter. I can copy and paste the text of the message into a
text editor and it prints fine there, retaining all formatting.

I do not understand why I seem to be the only one reporting these
problems. My other computer is still running 9.64, which occasionally does
not print the end of a page, but is better behaved in other respects. Its
main user would not put up with the issues I am reporting.

I can confirm some of the problems you are seeing. From my own past
attempts at getting help on Opera's printing foibles, I think that most
users have probably learnt to live with them in various ways! I often use
FinePrint as an intermediate printing utility so I can see what's
happening before wasting paper. However sometimes even Opera doesn't work
in its normal way and I have to resort to Firefox. Opera developers seem
to stay very quiet on printing problems.

Here using O10.10, your previous post will print OK at 100& scaling apart
from the lower half of the last line of your signature (XHTML etc.) Page 2
start with the penultimate line of your main post ("a page, but ...").
However, in Print Preview, there is no sign of any text at all on page 2.

I don't believe it has ever been possible to print from Compose view. You
can from Drafts.

I am glad to see someone else sees some printing problems. I guess I was
mistaken in thinking that you could always print from compose.

I would think that these kinds of printing issues would dissuade a new
user from using Opera. It certainly keeps me from trying to get other
people to use it.

At any rate, today I ran into another little problem: I printed a short
email,HTML, three lines, and there was no trace of the header except for
the subject. No "to" no "from." Fortunately, in this case there was a
signature identifying the sender.

I have encountered the small print problem once.

The entire page was reduced.

I was printing a webpage from my netbook (Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu 8.04,
Opera 10.10). Printing the same page from my laptop (Dell 1545 Ubuntu
9.10 Opera v. 10.10) to the same printer worked fine. Opera on both boxes
was set to 100% page view.

I didn't do anything to troubleshoot it.

I can confirm that this is a problem and that it's present on Windows for
Linux as well. I often have to print from Firefox instead or the text is
too little to read.
