Easiest way to show Speed Dial?

My Speed Dial page comes up too often (even when I use Hide Speed
Dial on its configuration menu).

I read this and changed the Speed Dial State from 1 to 3.

What's the easiest & quickest way to show my speed dial when I want
it?

What I did was add a 'New' button to the Address toolbar, the latter in
my case being a combined version of two or three toolbars. Click on
that and, if open new tab (or window) is set, then the new page will be
the Speed Dial. It seems to be the default for new unspecified pages.
At the following page, look for instances of "new" and you'll get two
or three ways to add it: http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons. I'm not
sure if all the text in those buttons shows, since often just a
shortened version does.

Another way is Ctrl-N.
