Hi - I'm new (today) to Opera and have noticed images are blurry/pixelly.

I can't find any info about changing settings to make images clear but I
know they are if viewed in another browser.

Can anyone help or point my in the right direction to find help?
Thanks,
Carol

In the same way that the first time you make a mouse gesture, a popup
appears warning you about this and offering you more help on the subject,
I think there should be some kind of popup the first time a page is loaded
with Opera Turbo enabled that warns the user about compressed images and
any other obvious side-effects.

If you offer the average non-techie an option to speed up their internet
connection, then obviously they'll enble it. They won't necessarily equate
the reduced image quality and filtered Flash objects with Turbo,
especially if they don't even notice at first, and may simply think Opera
isn't as good as the others at displaying images, just like they think if
they install Opera and it's unable to connect to any website it must be a
problem with Opera instead of their firewall.

Talking of which, how about also updating the "Could not locate remote
server" screen to mention firewalls, possibly with the word 'firewall' in
bold? At the moment it says "Make sure your Internet connection is active
and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are
working" but it's clear from the posts on these groups that users are
clever enough work that much out for themselves. It is precisely because
they can load those URLs in Firefox and IE, but not Opera, that they're
posting here in the first place. And they're just the ones who bare with
Opera long enough to try and fix the problem. Many others must surely see
this highly annoying error and just remove 'that heap of junk' without
ever realising it was their own firewall to blame.

And I said this years ago, but Opera really needs to create loads of video
tutorials for all its key features. There's nothing like being shown
exactly what to do for the average non-techie. text-based help files can
often make them feel like they're reading a flat pack self-assembly user
guide.
