Platform: Ubuntu 8.04, Intel Pentium M,
Opera 9.50 beta 2 build 1933

There's this dialog that opens every time Opera 9.50b starts, asking if
it should convert the email from 9.2x. I don't use Opera for email, so
conversion or not, doesn't matter to me.

However encountering this dialog box, every time I start Opera, is
annoying. I have tried clicking "Yes" on this conversion, but that
conversion doesn't seem to complete. I just runs, using 20-30% CPU,
with nothing happening?

Will it ever complete? Is there some reason conversion is so slow for
me? Is there some way to lose the annoying dialog permanently?

Hm... the email and chat accounts setting seems to be disabled in my
9.50b...? Is that normal?

Thanx!

Try the latest build, currently 1962. See

How long it will take varies depending on the number of messages stored
in ~/.opera/mail/store/*. With about 4500 messages, it took about 5
minutes, on my system.

It's possible that the database was/is corrupt, and opera is stuck in
a loop processing it. It may be necessary to export all/delete/import,
to successfully complete the conversion.

If the latest release still fails, see
http://groups.google.com/group/opera.mail+news/msg/44d5018b21f60909?
for a method to export all of the email, and then import it, to
recreate the database.

Ok. Thanx! I'll try that.

I don't use Opera to read email, so I don't have any email except maybe
some cached articles from an experiment in using Opera as an IMAP client
(but that would be _many_ versions ago).
