Lord of Valour
The suit of Wands represents the
element of fire. It is the intuitive function, the libido, the
primitive life force.
Some associations are – career, creativity, energy, desire, action, intuition, sex, movement, victory, enthusiasm, confidence, competition, magic and excellence.
Sevens represent choice, wisdom, fate, divine order, the need to make decisions, mysticism, change, turning points, magic, rebellion, eccentricity, the completion of a phase of cycle.
In the RWS version, the figure has
one boot and one shoe on. Eccentricity is perfectly acceptable as
long as no one is being hurt. If you want to wear one shoe and one
boot – go right ahead! Be yourself. Put bananas in your coffee.
Read magazines from back to front. Keep goldfish in the bathroom.
It is your right to tell people to back off; you can put ketchup
on your tuna fish sandwich if you want to.
A man stands on top of a hill wielding a wand. Below him 6 other
wands are raised. He has the position of advantage, the high
ground. He is flexible in his approach as seen by two different
types of footwear.

A young man on a craggy eminence brandishing a staff; six other
staves are raised towards him from below.
Divinatory Meanings
Upright: It is a card of valour, for, on the surface, six are attacking one, who has, however, the vantage position. On the intellectual plane, it signifies discussion, wordy strife; in business–negotiations, war of trade, barter, competition. It is further a card of success, for the combatant is on the top and his enemies may be unable to reach him.
Reversed: Perplexity, embarrassments, anxiety. It is also a caution against indecision.
Some Additional Meanings of the Lesser Arcana
Seven: dark child.
