USB MIDI stopped working - v5.6.0 (220)

Hi,

I've been using a Yamaha MD-BT01 BT MIDI adapter and the app MIDI+BTLE
to connect the device to OpenSong. For most of this year, this has been
perfectly fine. However, both the app and my tablet (Galaxy Tab S8
SM-X700) have updated (Android 13) in the past two weeks and it has
since stopped working so I'm not sure which is at fault here.

The BT device connects to MIDI+BTLE, so that step is fine. However when
I go to Connect USB Device and tap Search, it shows no results.

Are there preferred troubleshooting steps to take?

I have confirmed today that this is still not working in that version, or the current beta. When I try to enable BT in the current beta I get  "Permissions were refused and may need to be granted manually". On a fresh install, I got prompted for Nearby Devices and it currently is enabled.

Since my initial message, I had to factory reset the tablet (due to an unrelated problem) so this is a completely fresh install of OpenSong that is still not working; as is the beta. I have tested the MIDI in Songbook Pro with the exact same hardware and it is working fine.

Hi Josh,

I'm assuming your device has recently updated to Android 13?  Someone else has reported the issue to me and and I hopefully have a fix in place,  but it will appear in the v6 (beta 6) of the app hopefully tomorrow evening after it is tested.  I'm not updating v5 of the app anymore if I can avoid it as it will soon be replaced by v6.  You can join the beta test program on Google Play and get the latest version of the app by using the following link:

It's a major update to the app (with loads of new features and improvements), so I'd recommend creating a backup of your songs.
