How do I ensure that the prefs used by a gadget are the ones the blog
owner configures?

I have created a gadget that requires some preferences to be set by
the blog's author. I host the gadget on my blog, and I have a friend
who is hosting the gadget on her blog. When I view HER blog, the
gadget shows with MY settings. What am I doing wrong? Why is this
happening? Obviously, I want to see the gadget with her settings on
her blog, and my settings on my blog.

I realize this question has probably been asked and answered many
times before, but I wasn't able to find the answer with my searching.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is there some way of escalating this? Where else could I ask the
question? I'm starting to think it's a bug in the way preferences are
handled!
