open ajax alliance & openSocial -- pub/sub

We've been working with some of the pub/sub code that's available in
Shindig and have a few examples up and running. So far so good. We
think this is a pretty important capability in creating highly
interactive and dynamic mashups and we're figuring out how we might
help get ideas on the table for v.next

For some of our use cases, we have customers that have different
"flavors" of gadgets that need to work together. By "flavors", I mean
things like Open Ajax Widgets. We've got a few things working now that
we are in the process of cleaning up so we can share and get input/
feedback from the community.

As a result of doing this work across our various teams within IBM it
occurred to us that there seems to be a lot of shared ideas between
Open Ajax and OpenSocial. We thought it would be a good to see if we
could have an information sharing session to explore ways the two
communities might be able to collaborate and leverage the work each
group has done. One of our team members who works with the OAA ran
this idea by a couple of their folks and received some very positive
and encouraging feedback.

As it turns out, it looks like I'll be in the SF area next week.
Although it's short notice, I am more than happy to host something at
the IBM site out that way (and provide a call in number for those that
cant' be there in person). I'm thinking the morning of Sept 9 (PDT).
