Subject: Bible Outline: e.g. Reference-to-Subheading Mapping
Hello,

Is anyone aware of a bible outline in some usable format?

Something mapping references to the subheadings in an English Bible
would be great.

I could just rip these from, say, the World English Bible with a
little work, obviously.

Curious as to whether this already exists, though.

Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

There are a couple online, but without a clear idea of where they're from I can't vouch for their copyright status etc. I think part of the issue is that the term 'Bible outline' covers such a wide variety of things.  What is suitable for headings in a particular translation may not be suitable for a study guide etc.

Hi Russell + all,

For anyone who's curious, I've found I can lift a great set of
headings from the XML of the Lexham English Bible.

I'm keeping a copy here for reference:

That's an interesting thread. Glad to see that the LEB people are being generous in their licensing terms, though it illustrates the complexity of trying to draw a line between OK use and non-OK use.

I agree that the OEB headings aren't good enough yet - they're mostly holdovers from the original text we're working from. They will be comprehensively reworked, probably within the next couple of months. There are some good changes to the NT in the pipeline.
