I have been playing with this layer and have when you zoom in to a
certian level the layer becomes invisible.

In bing maps I can zoom in much farther, how can I get OpenScales to
keep showing the layer on deeper zoom levels?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

Well, this is not about openscales but more about the data that you are
displaying. The fact you can zoom deeper in bing layers than in your
other layers simply means that bing have data for certains resolutions
that your other layers don't have.

That being said, you can restrict the zooming capacity of you're map by
setting its minResolution and maxResolution properties.

You cannot force a layer to keep displaying its most zoomed value while
you are zooming deeper.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok, so how do I get the Bing layer to zoom as much as the Bing Maps
web page http://www.bing.com/maps/?

I can zoom alot deeper there than I can in the Bing layer.

It seems I now have found the function that is rendering the layer
useless and it is the "checkAvailability()" that seems to be in error.

I can create a new class extending Bing and override this protected
function to always return true. When I do this the layer then allows
me to zoom further and data is returned because there are higher
resolution aerials.

So the question now becomes is this a bug? If I do not override this
function the layer renders inoperable prematurely.

Thanks,
Rob
