On Sunday April 6th, a person claiming to be "John Lewis" joined our
group and edited the group's Pages to include a flashing "Spyware"
banner ad at the top.  The JScript code on the page also attempted to
launch popup ads.

We apologize for any confusion or trouble this may have caused. We
reported their account to Google Groups and have turned on some
moderation features. We look forward to a time when Google Groups
supports more rigorous moderation and filtering facilities for the
posts they accept here.
