Subject: Calibre based OPDS PHP Server
Hi,

Some months ago, I talked about an OPDS server using Calibre database
as a source. It's been running since september at home and it took me
a little time to publish it but here is COPS : Calibre OPDS PHP
Server.

You can find all information here : http://blog.slucas.fr/en/oss/calibre-opds-php-server
(french version is also available).

It works for me but I think it's still an early alpha release. I'll
create a github account soon ...

Thanks again for the help provided in this group.

Sébastien.

Bonjour Sébastien,

It seems that French people are the main contributors to the Calibre + OPDS
ecosystem (David Pierron, the creator of Calibre2OPDS is also French) ;-)

I took a quick look at your demo feed and liked it overall:

   - for the atom:id, using calibre generated id might not be unique enough
(many feeds will contain calibre:books:1 as an id), you might consider
adding something to that string to make it unique
   - it seems that name of the series and the current volume number is a
fairly common metadata element that we currently don't have recommendations
for. It ends up in the description in both C2O and COPS. We need to
seriously start thinking about media specific documents with best practices
   and recommendations for metadata.

Hadrien

Vive la France :D !

I don't understand :
 * the id of the feed is the url so it's unique.
 * the id of each entry is based on the type and calibre id.

So you're right there is many feed (with different id) with the same
entry id (because each time it's the same book which can be found by
its author, serie or with the recent book). Is this really not valid ?

IIRC the serie is still not officially valid in EPUB also.

Thanks for taking the time to test it.
