Hi,
I'm trying to install openproximity 2.0 rc-1 on my netbook but I had
some problems with my bluetooth. So, my hardware is a netbook megaware
classic atseries, atom n450 2gb ram and 320 gb hd. I tried to install
ubuntu 10.10, ubuntu 9.10, lubuntu 10.10 and behavior is the same at
all. The bluetooth manager works stranger, some times works, some
times not works.
When openproximity is running, it tries to send some file to devices
and it is rejected the number of times of the campaing, scanner stay
locked! I restart openproximity and happens again!
I don't know what I do. I believe that is some problem with bluetooth
compatibility at my hardware and ubuntu. I did all updates that I
thought to be need.
Did have somebody similiar problem?
Thanks.

Which BT dongle are you using? Is it an AIRcable?

Hi Manoel, no problem. Thanks.

I'm using a generic BT dongle. I hacked the openproximity code... I
have openproximity installed in another pc and works fine with same BT
dongle and same conditions (currently Ubuntu 10.10).
There are other problems looks like with my in another two posts:
(Uploading doesn't work )
(Issue 31 in proximitymarketing: Resolve services again if it failed
to resolve once. )

I lost many hours trying to resolv this...please...
Thanks!

Sorry but generic dongles tend to be damn buggy, that's why we don't
support them (that and the fact that I need to eat ;) and pay rent)

Issue #31 will get fixed, I need to cehck the other one

Ok Manuel, I understand =)
But, in fact it works fine with same generic dongle in another
laptop... it's very stranger. Ubuntu bluetooth manager have stranger
behavior too... some times upload files, some times does not.
However, I will wait for your answer about the other post (Uploading
doesn't work ) and bug fix issue #31.

Thanks!

That's the problem with bad stacks, you may notice they're working OK
for an hour and then start failing for hours, are too unstable.

That's a reminder for me, on a problem I need to fix.

Manuel
