Hi ,

I have just installed OpenNI package(containing core OpenNI interfaces+sensor driver+NITE modules). I just want to simulate how the output will be if we can simulate the output behaviour
if we can supply the input manually in terms of depth map and image map since I don't have the kinect device.

I tried running sample application "NiViewer" which died with the error :
Device: PrimeSense/SensorV2/5.1.0.41: The device is not connected
perhaps referring to the kinect device not being connected.

Please suggest any simulator or reference to any resources/tutorial through which I can perform the same. Any help regarding the same will be highly appreciated.

Config:  Windows 7 with Core i3 processor.
Please revert in case more info is reqd.

Thanks.

I think that you might be interested in playing back a depth recording from a Kinect. Look at the NiViewer example and how they implement the "Player" node.
Plus, if everything is installed correctly, NiViewer is the default program to open .oni files on windows. So if you double-click on a recorded .oni, it will Open with NiViewer and show your the recorded file.

OpenNI has two recordings in their modules section: http://openni.org/Downloads/OpenNIModules.aspx
