Install driver error

to OpenNI

Hi all,

I am trying to install OpenNI on my PC.

My PC is running Windows XP 32 bit, Dell Precision, CPU Intel
W3520
I downloaded the OpenNI version here: https://github.com/OpenNI/OpenNI
and extract to my C drive: C:\OpenNI

When I run the driver installation file: C:\OpenNI\Platform
\Win32\Driver\Bin\dpinst-x86.exe, I always get the error: "Windows
cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have
the appropriate permissions to access the item".

The same error when I run C:\OpenNI\Platform\Win32\Install\OpenNI
\setup.exe

I have done Google search but cannot find the answer.

Please help me.

Hi,
Are you using KInect? If yes, you need install the usb driver from https://github.com/avin2/SensorKinect

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have tried that too

I have downloaded avin2/SensorKinect

Run Bin\SensorKinect093-Bin-Win32-v5.1.2.1.msi

But the installation stop with the error: "Please install OpenNI
version 1.2.0.4 or higher".

I got the same issue when trying to install avin2 0.93. You can take a
look my blog and check what I did to successfully install the usb
driver.
