Hi everyone,

First let me thank you for the awsomness work you are doing.

I've been working with openni and Kinect for my thesis project.

I would really appreciate if you know some formal references
(articles, books, conferences, etc.) about OpenNI and NUI world. I
need some references about OpenNI, NITE (skeleton tracking algorithm),
and also Natural User Interfaces.

I really need some help to find OpenNI-NITE references.

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your help and your time.

(Sorry about my english)

This is probably good for the purpose: http://openni.org/Documentation/

Microsoft has also released some good documentation which covers NUI stuff:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/develop/learn.aspx

Especially the Kinect for Windows Human Interface Guidelines

I need some more help.

As I understand, the Kinect only generates depth images, what makes posible the skeleton tracking is NITE or the Microsoft SDK. Am I right?

Thanks

Yes, NITE and Kinect SDK are different platforms, which allow you to detect skeleton of the person in depth images.
There are also other platforms, which allow you to detect skeleton via depth images. Some of them are fully open source.
